MUMBAI CHAPTER: SYNCHRONY 2019

Synchrony 2019 (18th May 2019)

– Kalpen Shukla (President, IIMAAA-Mumbai)

Mumbai Summer is never a favourite for any activity, be it personal or professional. High temperature and humidity saps the energy and enthusiasm of even the toughest. But for an event that consistently defies the inclement weather – “Synchrony”! Invariably, IIMAAA-Mumbai witnesses overwhelming response from young alumni and Synchrony-2019 sustained the momentum with 200+ participants.

IIMAAA-Mumbai has successfully converted this event into a “Celebration-cum-Welcome party” for the ‘temporary Mumbaikars (Freshers)’ and the aspiring ‘to-be-Mumbaikars (Interns)’! The warm-up session for the Freshers was well received. Sudarshan Jain (PGP77), Akshay Kumar (PGP84) and Giri Giridhar (PGP87) addressed the Freshers and also offered very practical tips to make their stay on campus more meaningful. Prof Rakesh Basant (Dean-AER) and Anurag (Alumni office) joined the alumni.

It was pleasing to see increased participation from Chachas (PGPX alumni) and also from Senior Management Program (SMP) alumni where Purvi Sandal took the lead to mobilise the batchmates. It is heartening to note, nothing can dampen the spirit of the alumni, when it comes to bonding with fellow alumni and spending quality time networking and building new relationships.

The Dance-floor and DJ-Music continued till late hours to the extent that, the last group on the dance-floor had just left before the patrolling night-police entered the venue. Synchrony set the tone for the year and surely raised expectations of the alumni for upcoming events. This flagship event of the Institute, remains one of the most ‘Fun-event’ for Mumbai alumni.

Our sincere appreciation for the Team of Interns successfully led by Janvi Thosani and Mikin Shah. It was a wonderful planning effort and coordination from them and their team of volunteers.
