Mr. Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty, 1982 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh. With a rich and varied experience in Government, he has held several challenging positions in the past including Principal Secretary – Planning & Renewable Energy; and Additional Chief Secretary – Renewable Energy & Primary Education, in Government of Madhya Pradesh. He is the winner of the Global Development Network Award (December 2000) for the most innovative project instituted by the World Bank and 19 International agencies for innovations in governance.

He has been highly recognized for devising the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) concept that involves the management of public hospitals with participation from people. This concept has been institutionalized in all public hospitals of the state and inculcated as the basic model for hospitals across the country under the National Rural Health Mission. Furthermore, his varied experiences include public relations, agriculture, cooperatives, industries, land revenue and district administration besides many more.
