CHAOS 2019 – 90’s NOSTALGIA

A brief by the Team CHAOS 2019, amidst the placements and submissions

 

Chaos 2019 team – 90’s Se Hun

 

The Indian Institute of Management hosted Chaos, its cultural festival from 24th January to 27th January, 2019. The theme of the festival this year is 90’s Nostalgia. With the nation-wide sensation Armaan Malik, the glamorous YouTube phenomenon Jonita Gandhi, India’s best DJ Chetas and the Hindi rock band Local Train, Chaos 2019 – Pronites was bound to be a mega-success. Besides musical performances, the event also included competitions in dance, drama and literary arena along with engaging workshops such as Bollywood dancing with Melvin Louis, Silent Disco with DJ Nihar, Corporate Communication with Anusha Khurana, Personal Finance workshop with HDFC CEO and CFO, CV Ganesh and many more.

The fest also comprised of speaker sessions by Ranjan Singh from Phantom films and a Social media panel chaired by Divyanshu Damani, Sejal Kumar, Prajakta Koli, Anto Philip, Sanjana Ganesan. The fest received over 80,000 registrations and hosted students from over 500 national institutes over the 4-day period which would include participants for events including Hip-notize, the Western dance competition judged by Melvin Louis, Natya Katha, the stage play competition, Crescendo, the Solo Singing Competition, Quizzes ranging from Sci-Tech, MELA, Business and Sports, and Parliamentary Debate. The fest also included events for those having an entrepreneurial outlook hosting Swarnim: Entrepreneur of the Year, in association with SSIU, India’s first start-up and innovation university, and Abhiyaan, a crowdfunding competition. There were many other exciting informal events like The Drum Circle and Battleground.

 

Also presented for the visitors was Hues, a flea market that brought forth a plethora of collectibles, including art, craft, jewellery, clothing and the like. Being a syndicate of art forms, coming together to help visitors unwind the artistic side within, the flea market displayed home grown brands like Creyon, Humble Bee Luxury, Nakaashi, Jhilmil, Sheekha, Sweven, and many more.

 

With its extensive range of events, competitions, speakers and artists, the fest promised something for everyone – living up to the theme.
