PGP-PMA 73

Prakash Jakkanwar, PMA 73, was a lively, vibrant, jovial face of the batch. With strong willpower he fought with a heart ailment for 28 years and finally God decided to give rest to his heart on December 11, 2023.

One of the seven siblings of school teacher parents, he had a challenging childhood. A sports enthusiast with a patriotic spirit, he was attracted to the defense sector. He did an Army Attachment Course in the Samba sector. He then worked as a Professor in an Agricultural college and joined IIMA under his fathers insistence. Sadly, his father passed away during the course and could not enjoy the fruits of his success.

Having made a mark in the banking career, Prakash rose to be a General Manager in a leading public sector bank. He was a visiting Professor at NMIMS and College of Management-FOSTIIMA, formed by IIMA graduates in Mumbai.

He is survived by wife Nirmal – daughter of renowned artist and portrait painter Shri. Vasant Anantrao Mali, and daughters Sheetal and Ashwini, both of whom did MBA and are staying in Mumbai.
