Chennai Chapter launches CAC Times and Hosts Bird Watching & Other Events

In December, Chennai Chapter ran an annual subscription campaign successfully and generated Rs 1.5 Lakhs and committed sponsorship of 1.5 Lakh. Out of this, Rs 15,000 has been received for the February event. Chennai Chapter organised an event with an alumni, founder of the startup IdeaRx which powers pharmacies with AI, Mr. Saravanan with networking opportunities during Tea/Coffee and Dinner.

In January, Chennai chapter alumni association ventured outdoors and organised a bird watching event to visit Vendanthangal Bird Sanctuaries with one of our in-house ornithologist Aniket Barma, PGP 2013. We spotted many birds and the Chapter ran a visual quiz to identify birds as a promotion for the event.

The Chennai Chapter also launched its monthly newsletter “CAC Times” with CAC standing for Change Agents of Chennai. The December and the January issues were the 2nd and 3rd issues. Articles covered interviews with board members in IIMA EF, contributors from the region, write up on events, articles published by Chennai alumni in international publications and highlighted alumni speakers and award winners in national events.

In February, the Chapter organized an event on “Management Concepts in Bhagavad Gita” with Chennai Chapter President Sundar, PGPX 2010 in conversation with Mr. RT. Narendra PGP 69. The event was hosted by IdeaRx, a start-up of our alumni Mr. Saravanan from SMP, 18 batch. After the event, alumni had a networking dinner. On Feb 22nd a panel discussion on Union Budget was organized with panelists  from various sectors (Agri tech, Industrialist, Finance and Tax Expert). Mr. Krishna Ponnada, PGPX 2007 and Mr. VBR Menon, PGP 76, were part of the panel.
