From the Editor
Dear Alumni,
I am delighted to present to you the latest issue of The WIMWIAN, featuring the theme “WIMWIANs Give Back.” We are overwhelmed by the excellent response to this theme and inspired by the stories of our brilliant alumni who have dedicated their time and efforts to benefiting society. Despite their busy schedules and family commitments, our alumni have found ways to contribute to making the world a better place. We hope their stories inspire the entire IIMA Alumni community to do the same.
This issue also includes a special feature, “Being an Accidental Philosopher,” by our illustrious alum Mr. Madan Mohanka. He reflects on his professional journey and the underlying philosophy that shaped his actions and the fortunes of his enterprise. Additionally, we have an interview with Mr. Sundeep Kumar from the PGP 80 batch, who shares insights on what makes a successful reunion. Mr. Kumar has organized reunions for his batch over the last five years in diverse locations such as Kaziranga, the Andamans, Gujarat, and Kashmir. Professor Apurv Nagpal writes about his fascination with Wordle and his process of developing his own game, Cross Punk. We also hear about the reunions held in Kashmir for the PGP 80 batch and in Puri for the PGP 69 batch.
We have also written about the inaugural talk for the Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series by the iconic voice of Indian cricket, journalist, and IIMA’s PGP 1985 alumnus, Harsha Bhogle. We are excited to launch the Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series that aims to facilitate a dialogue and exchange of ideas between the Institute’s alumni, students, and the community at large.
I hope you enjoy this issue as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
Warm regards,
Prof Sunil Maheshwari,
Dean, Alumni and External Relations
