Dear Alumni,
It is a privilege to connect with you through the pages of THE WIMWIAN for the first time. As I write this note, I find myself reflecting on a simple truth: the most defining moments in our careers are often the ones we never planned for.
The theme of this issue, “Careers Unscripted,” celebrates exactly that. The stories featured here remind us that careers are rarely linear. They evolve through unexpected opportunities, difficult decisions, changing aspirations, and the courage to step beyond familiar paths. Across generations of IIMA alumni, there is no single formula for success, only the shared willingness to learn, adapt, and keep moving forward.
This issue revisits the Institute’s rich legacy through The Professors’ Pen; Prof. V. Venkata Rao offers a thoughtful reflection on “IIMA Convocation: Then and Now,” tracing how one of the Institute’s most cherished milestones has evolved over the years. Complementing this, the Special Feature by Madan Mohanka (PGP 1967) presents an ambitious vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, inviting us to think about leadership, entrepreneurship, and nation-building in the decades to come. At the same time, our Campus Pulse highlights IIMA’s partnership with OpenAI—an initiative that underscores the Institute’s commitment to preparing future-ready leaders in an increasingly dynamic world.
Beyond these features, you will find thought-provoking contributions in Alumni Writes, IIMA Archives, updates from alumni chapters and batch reunions, the latest faculty research, and an impressive collection of books authored by our alumni. We also pay a Special Tribute to Diwan Arun Nanda (PGP 1964–66), whose extraordinary contributions left an indelible mark on Indian industry and on the IIMA community. As always, we remember members of our alumni family who are no longer with us and acknowledge the generosity of those whose contributions continue to shape the future of the Institute.
