KOLKATA CHAPTER: SYNCHRONY 2018

On 19th May, the Kolkata Alumni Chapter organised Synchrony 2017 for the PGP 1 freshers who would be commencing their well-deserved MBA stint next month.

Mr. Victor Pereira from Alumni Cell travelled all the way from Ahmedabad to grace the occasion.

The mentors and mentees braved the May heat to meet at the Haldiram Food City. As always, we had a good number of enthusiastic alums turning up to guide and share their experiences with the freshers, curious to glean every bit of detail before they landed in the campus. It was an eclectic mix of Chartered Accountants, Engineers, Economics graduates etc.

Proceedings kicked off with informal discussions, centered around case study methodology, dorm dynamics, surprise quizzes.

Freshers spoke about their key motives from the journey and put forth their apprehensions about the entire process; also asking questions such as should they opt for stable careers or be frequently job hoppers for faster growth

Seniors spoke on how IIMA learnings helped them in their professional journey, be it as intrapreneurs in leading organizations or extrapreneurs in their startup journey.

There were inspiring speeches on leadership by Mr. Madan Mohanka, Chairman Tega Industries and Mr Ravi Todi-MD Shrachi Group

The freshers were advised to live every bit of this memorable IIMA journey and keep the flag flying high.
