It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the sudden death of Ms. Akshaya Sivakumar (PGP 2012-14) on 18 September 2025 because of a brain hemorrhage. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with her family and friends, and many of her classmates who knew her kind soul, her inquisitiveness & her incisive mind.
Ms. Akshaya was an inspiring alumna whose accomplishments were as vast as the kindness in her heart. Completing her graduation at the top of her class from IIT Madras (B.Tech, Computer Science, 2008-2012), she entered the PGP (2012-14) of IIM Ahmedabad as a Merit Holder and soon earned the reputation of having a quick mind and leadership skills.
Eight years of her work experience have been in Goldman Sachs, followed by her problem-solving abilities and vigor in HSBC India, Deloitte, Simpli, as well as NinjaCart.
Outside her profession, Ms. Akshaya loved quizzing, both as a player and as a host, and entertained many with her love and passion for knowledge and play. She was also an accomplished origami artist and painter, passions she pursued alongside a demanding professional life. Those who knew her remember a thoughtful, driven individual who made time for the people and interests she loved.
