The critically acclaimed science play, The Square Root of a Sonnet (the Strange History of Black Holes), written by Nilanjan P. Choudhury, PGP 98, premiered in the UK, at the historic Royal Institution Theatre, London on 19th and 20th July, 2024. It was the first time that any theatre production from India was staged at the Royal Institution, which is the UK’s leading venue for science communication. Based on true incidents, the play is an exploration of the lives and times of two giants of modern astrophysics – the Nobel Laureate S. Chandrasekhar and his mentor, Sir Arthur Eddington. Produced by the Centre for Film & Drama, India, the play is directed by the National Award winning director, Prakash Belawadi.
