PGP 2000 Reunion: Dec 26 to Dec 28, 2025
By Pushkaraj Shenai
The brief was clear: pack 2 years of campus life at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 2 days. Not just a dip in nostalgia, but to refresh old memories!
It felt like the campus had been patiently waiting for us. Same walls. Same walkways. Same arches. Same shadows. Same rooted confidence. Same Louis Kahn Plaza. Slightly increasing waistlines. Slightly receding hairlines!
We recreated ourselves in the most memorable events of our IIMA journey….
Talent Nite – proof that talent never retires, it only becomes more confident, louder, funnier, and slightly less rehearsed. But the self-applause is louder.
A case discussion + YearBook launch with Prof AK Jain, who taught every single student and gently reminded us that frameworks age better than people.
Indian Ocean live – The band that played at Chaos eight years in a row, made us feel like time is a social construct. Same songs. Same goosebumps. Different knees.
Sports Combos – where competitive spirit met strategic excuses.
Gujarati feast @ Vishalla – Now we can afford the meal but not the calories.
The Ramp Party – Govinda steps, late-90s Bollywood numbers, muscle memory kicked in, muscles protested.
Recreating the most memorable pics from 1998-00.
Between hi-teas, long walks, late-night conversations, and laughter echoing across old corridors we celebrated everyone –
· Three friends who are still in their campus job – take bow BCG, P&G and Unilever, the one who is figuring out his true purpose after switching 13 jobs…..and those in between.
· The Consultants who had frameworks for “boiling the ocean at reunions” and Fund managers who obsessed over improving MOIC (Memories of Incorrigible Classmates).
· The Operators who were eyeing opportunities to improve the reunion EBIDTA (Enjoyment Because I Took a Day Away) and the CFOs who were concerned about depreciation in dance moves.
· The ones who made a serious impact by setting up incubators, educational institutes, philanthropic funds, and the ones who were struggling to get 6 hours of sleep.
We didn’t just remember who we were. We recognised who we’ve become. Careers were built. Lives happened. But the batch spirit? Untouched. Unchanged. Unshakeable. “Pachhees Saal Baad” reminded us that some institutions don’t just award you a degree and a career. They reward you with a lifetime of purpose, perspectives and people who can roast you brutally – and still show up for you when needed. We are grateful to the our Director, Dean (AER), Alumni and External Relations Office – Hemant, Pradosh and Ashmita, and our wonderful Profs who graced the ocassion – Prof AK Jain, Prof Rakesh Basant, Prof GS Gupta, Prof Ravindra Dholakia, Prof Singh, and Dipeshbhai and the Markcom team, especially Khushi.
IIMA ka Tempo high hain…Y2K ka Tempo higher hain aur rahega…..

Pachhees saal baad — batch united on the red bricks.
