Siddhi Karnani (PGP-ABM 2013) was honoured with ‘INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD’ by the President of India

IIMA is proud of Siddhi Karnani PGP-ABM 2013, Co-founder and Director of Parvata Food, who has been honoured with ‘INDIAN WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD’ by the President of India on January 20, 2018 at New Delhi.

She received ‘First Lady’ felicitation from the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, at Rashtrapati Bhawan for the work done by Parvata Foods with the organic farmers in Sikkim.

She was recognised among 100 first achievers’ women across varied domains, bringing pride to the Nation, such as P.V.Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza, Aishwarya Rai, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Mary Kom, Geeta Phogat, Late Kalpana Chawla, P.T. Usha, Bachendri Pal and other exceptional women.

Parvata Foods has been co-founded by IIM-Ahmedabad alumni (Anurag Agarwal and Siddhi Karnani, PGP-ABM 2013). They opted out of placement to start their own venture, to uplift the farmers in North-East (N-E) and Eastern India. Parvata is committed to bringing high quality, adulteration free, organic and natural agriculture products to the consumers. It is the first player to build farmer-centric integrated value chain of organic produce from Sikkim, the only complete organic state in India. The Company has state-of-art organic food processing units in Sikkim and in Siliguri for higher value addition. It has innovated three-stage dehydration technology for spices, through which maximum aroma and flavour is retained.

The Company actively works with thousands of marginal and small farmers. It provides on-farm collection services to the farmers, with higher prices and on-spot cash payments. It also provides training to the farmers in modern agriculture practices and disease mitigation to increase their productivity, product quality and income.
