The Monk and the Machine

By Madhukar Parikh | EDP 2007

Synopsis

The book follows Arjun, an overwhelmed shop floor supervisor struggling with production targets, breakdowns, workplace pressures, and declining peace. His life changes when he meets a serene monk who introduces him to 21 Sacred Rituals rooted in timeless wisdom. Practising these rituals amid the noise and pressure of the factory, Arjun learns mindfulness, breath control, resilience, and disciplined thinking. Gradually, he transforms from a reactive manager into a calm, purposeful leader. The story reveals that the greatest machine to master is the human mind.
