( 13 January 1955 – 7 April 2025)

Vilas Kelshikar passed away on April 7 2025, at Muscat.
Vilas started his career with Liberian Bank in Monrovia and then moved to Khimji’s diversified Corporate Group in Muscat. He had a long stint with the real estate industry in Dubai and discovered his “unearthed gold.”
Vilas was laidback, carefree, happy-go-lucky and totally bindaas. He was a much loved person but also kept a very low profile and remained quiet. Despite this, Vilas could perk you up when the chips were down and could always bring back the smile of his friends and colleagues with his entertaining stories. Be it a case or Cricket, during any animated discussion he would suddenly register his presence with the interjection “hold on.” Prakash and Sampat gave him the nickname “Hold on”. There are many such loving memories that shine light on his loving personality and attitude.
As his classmates, we pray that his soul rests in peace and for God to give peace to the grieving members of his family.

“My dad meant the world to me, and it brings me so much warmth to know how deeply he connected with those around him. I feel incredibly thankful knowing how many lives he touched along the way,”-Tushrima Kelshikar (daughter)
“Terrible to hear about Vilas. We lived in the same house for 2 years in Monrovia right after IIMA and I got to know him really well. He was an excellent colleague at the Liberian Bank and a great friend. We found great pleasure in going to the movies on Sunday night and exploring the countryside in Liberia. May his soul Rest in Peace.”- Ravi
