Aparna and I need to thank the “random” group allocation of OM in term one for getting to know each other, but then nothing is “random” on campus. The stress and the feeling of slipping behind on a fast-moving treadmill made the twofreshers share their feelings, become best friends, and by the end of first term realise we would like to spend the rest of our lives together. Both of us were focused on marketing strategy careers, second year was memorable for participating and winning a few marketing case contests which helped us fund eating out and trips around Ahmedabad. As luck would be, both of us landed final placements with P&G in Singapore. Subsequently, I have moved on and am now with J&J while Aparna continues to be with P&G. We are now married for 11 years (yes we got married when both of us were 24!), and have two young boys, Arjun five-years-old and Vikram who turns three in March. We have alternated between living in Mumbai and Singapore and are now in Singapore since over two years. I can proudly vouch for the fact that Aparna was my “biggest take away from IIMA”.
