Chennai Chapter : Connecting with the Next-Gen Alumni Leaders in Chennai

The Chennai Chapter bestowed its attention on recent IIMA graduates from the most recent batches up to 2010. On November 11, 2017, the senior author hosted a ‘connect’ event at his residence ably supported by the second author. The following next-gen alumni leaders were in attendance:

Batch 2017: Ravi Vannan Thangaraj and S Dinesh Kumar

Batch 2016: M Ganesh

Batch 2015: Akrithi Gupta, Ravi Kumar, A. Suresh Kumar and E.K. Nihal

Batch 2013: Ankit Barma and Maruthi Raj

Batch 2011: S. Priya

Batch 2010: L.S. Sundar

Besides, Ananthaswami Rajagopalan, MC Srikanth [PGP1983], KC John [FPM1988], Ram Srinivasan [PGP1999] and Kiran Deshpande [PGP2002] briefed the next-gen alumni about the Chapter activities and invited them to strengthen the association.

Over generous supply of beer, vodka, gin and snacks, the younger alumni exchanged ideas, WIMWI anecdotes as well as recent stories. They also articulated their needs and expectations from the Chennai Chapter. The suggestions included:

1. Knowledge/Experience/Insight sharing sessions;
2. Frequent social/informal get together,
3. Fun events – Street Foodie Walk, Heritage Walk and
4. Volunteering with social/environmental NGOs

More importantly, the younger group of alumni made a strong commitment to get engaged, whole heartedly, in Chapter events.
