Writer’s Corner Online Discussion on ‘Play to Potential’

The Alumni and External Relations (AER) Office and Vikram Sarabhai Library are delighted to announce an online book discussion of ‘Play to Potential’ by Deepak Jayaraman, PGP 99, on January 11, 2025 as part of Writer’s Corner, an AER initiative to platform alumni writers who have published with leading publishers or journals.

The book discussion will be moderated by Shweta Anand Arora, PGP 2002, Founder & CEO of The Core Questin, a boutique leadership consulting firm.

About the book:
In ‘Play to Potential’ Deepak Jayaraman explores how to unlock our human potential by embracing both the highs and lows of life. Drawing from his podcast and coaching experiences, Jayaraman introduces the FLAVOUR framework, which helps readers navigate the complexities of family, aspirations, values, and relationships. The book serves as a guide for individuals in mid-life (ages 30-50), a time often filled with competing demands from work, home, and personal interests. Jayaraman emphasises that life is a team sport, with family playing a crucial role in personal growth and achievement. He challenges traditional self-help narratives that focus on a singular “North Star,” instead offering a practical “torchlight” approach to navigating life’s messiness. Through personal anecdotes and case studies, Play to Potential provides actionable insights for discovering passion and purpose along the journey of life, encouraging readers to take meaningful steps toward realising their potential.

Author’s profile:
As a coach and a trusted sounding board, Deepak Jayaraman helps growth-minded individuals realise their full potential in their professional and personal lives. Since 2016, he has hosted the Play to Potential Podcast, sharing insights around leadership, transitions and careers from 100+ distinguished guests across various fields. Before launching his independent practice, Deepak worked with KPMG, McKinsey & Co, and EgonZehnder in the UK, US, and India. He holds degrees from IIT Madras (B.Tech), IIM Ahmedabad (PGDM), and London Business School (MBA with distinction), and is a certified CEO coach.
