Dear Alumni,
What will India look like in 2047? And what will it take to turn that vision into reality?
As India moves towards Viksit Bharat @2047, the answers lie not only in ambitious targets, but in the ideas we pursue, the institutions we build and the actions we take today. This issue brings together alumni perspectives on this very question through our Cover Theme, “The India We Are Building: Ideas and Actions for Viksit Bharat @2047.
From MSMEs and manufacturing to artificial intelligence, accessibility, infrastructure, and district-level development, our alumni explore the many forces shaping India’s future. Together, these contributions offer something more valuable than a single vision: a range of ideas on how aspiration can translate into action. The Special Feature, “The Creative Economy and Viksit Bharat 2047,” further broadens this conversation, reminding us that India’s future will be shaped by creativity and enterprise as much as by technology and industry.
This issue’s IIMA Archives marks twenty years of the Armed Forces Programme, celebrating a distinctive journey of excellence. Our Campus Pulse features the IIMA Healthcare Summit 2026 and the SMILE Summer Camp, while Alumni Musings and Research at IIMA bring us new perspectives and ideas. In Achievements and Honours, we celebrate alumni milestones, along with our regular sections of Bookshelf, Chapter News and Batch Activities. We also remember Raj Singh Nirwan, PGP 1968, and we also recognise alumni contributions to IIMA, including Ravi Mattu’s (PGP 1979) support in establishing the Mattu Centre for Research in Security Pricing and Corporate Finance.
Are you ready to make this December GLAM?
Join fellow WIMWIans at IIM Ahmedabad on 12 December 2026 for the Global Alumni Meet (GLAM), with the Distinguished Alumni Awards and Young Alumni Achievers’ Awards ceremonies, a panel commemorating Ravi J. Matthai’s centenary, and opportunities to reconnect across generations. There are a lot of student-led activities planned across 11–13 December, including sports, performances, art workshops, and more. Register for GLAM, as this is not just any event, so make sure you’re part of it.
Mark your calendars, make your plans to return to IIMA, and spread the word among your batchmates and fellow alumni.
We hope you enjoy reading this issue and look forward to seeing many of you at IIMA in December!
Warm regards,
Prof. Amit Karna
